Lebabon has become one of the trendiest destination of the world, and we’re not surprised that two trendsetters like Comme des Garçons and Monocle (that have previously collaborated to create best-seller Hinoki) have taken inspiration by the Cedar Country for their fragrance Two “We meant to catch the same smell and sensation we enjoyed during our stay in Batroun, Lenanon. It’s hot, alluring and somehow strong – just like this country” say Monocle chief editor, Tyler Brûlé.
So, it’s cedar, of course, tinged with incense – after all, “Lebanon” and “Olibanum”, another name of the incense, have the same etymology – and laurel, whose oil is used with olive oil to make the traditional Aleppo soap. A hint of herbs, pepper and a warm amber base give Laurel a dry, sparkling scent that redefines the concept of fresh fragrances. An amazing result.
